Our minister
Rev. Anthon Souman is the minister of God’s Word in the Free Reformed Church of Kelmscott. It is his task to preach and teach the Word of God in the worship services, in the catechism classes, in home visits, and in other ways wherever instruction and encouragement is needed. It is also the task of the minister, together with the elders and the deacons, to watch over and care for the congregation and to see to it that everything within the congregation is being done decently and in good order.
Rev. Souman was born in the Netherlands. He received his theological education at the Theological University in Kampen, the Netherlands. He served three congregations in the Netherlands: from 1992 to 1998 he served as minister in the Reformed Church of Hoek, and from 1998 to 2003 he served the Reformed Churches of Zaltbommel and Tiel. In 2003 he moved to Canada, where he served the Canadian Reformed Church of Smithville, Ontario (2003-2008) and the Canadian Reformed Church of Willoughby Heights, British Columbia (2008-2016).
Since December 2016, Rev. Souman is minister in the Free Reformed Church of Kelmscott.
